4th–6th April 2014

For this Anniversary edition – the fifteenth – the Franco-Irish Literary Festival welcomes you to the prestigious George’s Hall at Dublin Castle, in the cultural capital and UNESCO city of literature.

This year, the question put to our French and Irish writers is: Can lives be changed? Counter decline, chaos, passion and exile are all possible responses – primarily poetic ones – given by our writers to this concern.Changing lives? Political, romantic, even metaphysical, this line of questioning will be sustained for three days by debates among the writers and discussions with the public, all linked with upheaval, metamorphosis, extinction or rebirth.

Organised jointly by the Alliance Française Dublin and the Cultural Section of the French Embassy, the festival also owes its success to the support of its loyal partners. This year, once again we would like to warmly thank our sponsors whose generosity has allowed us to put on a big and beautiful festival! We are particularly grateful to the Ireland Fund de France, the Arts Council, l’Institut français, Foras na Gaeilge, Poetry Ireland, the Irish Writers’ Centre, Ireland Literature Exchange, French and Irish companies and the media, and in particular RTE Lyric FM, who widely contribute to the festival’s success.

Finally, let us welcome all the invited writers! We are convinced that they will make this 15th Anniversary a memorable one! Thank you all!
